Vitria Technology has introduced the Self-Evolving Knowledge Plane for VIA AIOps, marking a shift from probabilistic AI to knowledge-driven, explainable and increasingly autonomous operations. Vitria announced it ahead of FutureNet World London 2026.
As telecom providers move toward 5G-Advanced and Network-as-a-Service, existing observability and AIOps tools can detect and correlate events but often lack an understanding of how systems depend on one another. The VIA Knowledge Plane closes that gap. It is a continuously updated knowledge layer that combines telemetry, topology and institutional knowledge. It mines CMDBs, logs, metrics and historical incidents to build dynamic ontologies using W3C semantic standards, forming a knowledge-driven digital twin of the network.
Three capabilities set it apart: deterministic reasoning within a verifiable knowledge plane; federated, shared intelligence with continuous knowledge acquisition; and standards-based, transparent operation.
In one operator deployment, VIA traced degraded radio-network user experience to resource constraints in a virtualized transport-layer router and triggered automated remediation. Vitria reports up to 80% faster resolution and a 50–80% reduction in manual effort.
“Autonomous operations require more than data—they require understanding,” said Dr. Dale Skeen, co-founder and CTO of Vitria Technology.
